The City of East Lansing announces that Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Scott House has resigned from City employment, effective Friday, June 21. Deputy Director Ron Lacasse becomes the Interim Director of DPW.

Community members who were affected by the storm can schedule an extra pickup with DPW through Tuesday, June 25 by visiting DPW in person at 1800 E. State Road.

The City of East Lansing’s Downtown Management Board is partnering with Pinball Pete’s, 220 Albert Ave. to host the first ever Albert EL Fresco 80s Night on Thursday, June 27 from 5-9 p.m.

Community members are invited to attend the City of East Lansing’s PRIDE celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community on Saturday, June 29 from 5-9 p.m. in downtown East Lansing.

Community members are invited to a rummage and bake sale hosted by the East Lansing Prime Time Seniors Program on Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26 with proceeds to benefit programs for area seniors.

The City of East Lansing announced that the Prime Time Seniors Program has been credentialed for the next two years by MiGen, Michigan’s primary provider of services, advocacy and connection to those LGBTQ+ Michiganders aged 45-plus.

Community members are invited to learn more about residential solar energy at Solarize East Lansing, an event to be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road.

Community members are advised of construction to begin Monday, July 8 on Hagadorn Road. A public meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on July 8 at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.

Some City of East Lansing offices and facilities will be closed to celebrate Independence Day on July 4. Additionally, the City is reminding community members about the fireworks ordinance.
